ravenkinnie:

I’m not a person who believes fanon works have to stick strictly to canon but I’m tired of the trend where white male characters are adapted in fanon to be more uwu and approachable, meanwhile female characters and characters of color are lobotomised to remove all possibly controversial characteristics, usually to accomodate said white male characters

so my roommate melissa works part-time at a thrift shop pricing donations and she happened to come across this gem

and bought it for me because she is a good friend

it’s signed, framed and dated 1976

this is framed ot3 fanart from 1976

it is now hanging on the wall in our living room for everyone to see

sometimes i remember that this drawing exists, and was found in a thrift shop, and is hanging in someone’s living room

and i just feel really great about humanity for a few minutes

That must be the best thrift shop find of all times.

This looks to have been done by Connie Faddis, who was pretty famous in Trek circles in the ‘70s. She also wrote fic, which she’s been reposting on AO3 lately (1976 is definitely the oldest backdated work I’ve seen there!)

Elijah Douresseau’s The Nasty Business of Being a Bodyguard

#FridayReads – June 25th, 2021

Today we’re going to talk about the two ARCs that I owe BookSirens a review for. I had 90 days to read The Elements of the Crown and I really took advantage of that. To the point that I think I’ve read and reviewed 2 other books since receiving it. There’s No Such Thing As The Perfect Guy came out earlier this year, but I can’t say I was too interested in it before I came across it on BookSirens.…
